Do you know the difference between marketing and selling?

Many small businesses fail because their owners don’t know that marketing is building effective relationships to determine needs (win/win), while selling per se is getting a person to buy something whether he needs it or not. (win/lose). Failing to learn and practice this concept can and often does lead to business failure and owner ruination.

People who are truly in business to serve others are much more likely to succeed than those in business primarily to make money.  What’s wrong with making money?  Nothing as long as it comes from doing something that brings a positive outcome, especially something of intrinsic good.

Why should we be enthusiastic?

Enthusiasm is like a magnet, people are drawn to enthusiastic people because most people would like to enthusiastic, even if they’re not.  Those who desire to become enthusiastic may seek to do so by reading and listening to material designed to encourage enthusiastic behavior, which can have a positive effect.

However, the greatest source of enthusiastic power comes from within.  In periods of quiet reflection, one can create the image of an enthusiastic demeanor that will manifest in one’s daily interaction on a mostly consistent basis, thus achieving the desired impact on others.
